The 2024 resit examination has been scheduled for 29th April – 10th May 2024

GCTU RESIT REGULATIONS

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

In accordance with the GCTU Academic Policy 14.17 Guidelines for Re-sit Examinations:

A student who is awarded grade ‘F’ (fail) in a course at the end-of-semester examinations shall be required to re-sit the paper (a) during the end-of-semester examinations or (b) at the special re-sit session on a date that is determined by the Academic Board. Where a student who, owing to ill-health or other special circumstances, has not completed all assessments or whose performance in his/her assessments is considered by the University Examination Office to have been affected by ill-health or other special circumstances is eligible to re-sit. In addition to showing proof of payment of all fees, such students shall also be required to register and pay the appropriate re-sit fee. Students who obtain grades A, B, C and D (for CWA grading standards) and A+, A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, and D (for the CGPA grading standards) shall not be allowed to register and re-sit their papers.

REGISTRATION PROCESS

To begin with the registration process, students should comply with the following:

· Visit their departments to pick registration forms

· Show proof/evidence of the first attempt of the examination/courses they fail in. The students should attach a copy of results slip indicating the courses they fail in.

· Get approval from the department

· Pay at the bank

· Submit the bank pay-in slip to the Finance Directorate for authentication

· Submit the form (together with the results slip and pay-in slip) to the department

NOTE

· Please students should note that all resit grades are capped at 50.

· The timetable for the resit will be circulated in due course

This policy should be adhered to STRICTLY to ensure only eligible students register for the exams
