COURSE SUMMARY

This course is designed to provide first-year undergraduate students with a solid foundation in Sets, Relations, Equivalence Relations, Functions, Truth Tables and Some important theorems in Number systems.
Contents includes Sets, Historic Numeration Systems, number systems in other bases with algorithms and groups Set Theory. The Axioms of Sets, Sets Ordinals & Cardinals. Sets Relations, Equivalence relations and functions. Use of logic symbols in expressing Statements, Equivalence of statements.  Truth Tables.  Some important tautologies like, Law of Excluded Middle, Law of Non-contradiction, Law of Transposition and Rule of Detachment, Duality, Consistency etc
